The biggest new show of the 2016-2017 TV season had to be NBC's This Is Us, which was already setting records before the first episode even aired. It scored huge ratings throughout Season 1, and fans are anxiously looking forward to what's in store with Season 2. Luckily, creator Dan Fogelman has taken to social media to share a peek of what awaits in the second season of This Is Us. Take a look!

It seems that This Is Us will be taking us back to the start in Season 2, with Rebecca and Jack at the hospital as we saw them in the pilot. We can't say too much about what's going on based on this quick pic on Dan Fogelman's Twitter, but I think it's safe to say that the scene takes place sometime after Rebecca gave birth and before she and Jack decided to adopt Randall. Rebecca was having trouble attaching to the babies early on, and her expression definitely doesn't look out of place for a woman who just gave birth to triplets and had to deal with losing one of them.

Unsurprisingly, the glimpse doesn't give us anything to go on about the mystery of Jack's death. Dan Fogelman has already revealed that we'll find out how he died in Season 2, and he promised that the Season 2 premiere will present a huge piece of the puzzle. If we're going to learn more about his death, it's oddly fitting that it happens in an episode that circles back to the birth of the kids. Of course, Milo Ventimiglia would prefer if we weren't all so preoccupied with Jack's death, so maybe we should enjoy the quick shot of Season 2 without starting to spin any conspiracy theories. There's always time for that later.

We certainly don't have to worry about This Is Us getting cancelled anytime soon. NBC was so encouraged by the ratings for Season 1 that it ordered a double renewal earlier this year, guaranteeing a Season 2 and a Season 3 for This Is Us. Even if the show can't sustain its killer ratings into Season 2, Dan Fogelman and Co. can play the long game and plan stories out well ahead of time.

Hopefully we'll find out more about some of the Season 2 stories sooner rather than later. The first glimpse is definitely reason to get excited, but I'm hoping that a trailer is on the way in the not-too-distant future. Even if we're still months away from the fall premiere, a little bit of footage would be nice. We'll have to wait and see.

This Is Us will be back on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET this fall on NBC. If you're looking for more on This Is Us Season 2, our breakdown of what we know so far can help you out. Our summer TV schedule can show you what you can watch while we wait for fall premiere season.
