The nominations for the 2007 Emmy Awards have been announced! The award ceremony, which is set to air in September, will celebrate a year’s worth of primetime television. Which show is leading the pack with a whopping 15 nominations? I’ll give you a hint – “Don’t Stop Believin -----”. That’s right, HBO’s ‘Sopranos,’ which aired its final episode this year, will probably end up winning at least a few of the shiny gold statues, barring any major upsets of course.
I think the toughest category to call this year is the Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. In that category, Kevin Dillon and Jeremy Piven are both up for an award for their roles in ‘Entourage,’ Neil Patrick Harris scored a very well deserved nomination for his role in ‘How I Met Your Mother’ and Rainn Wilson has been recognized for his hilarity in his role as Dwight on ‘The Office.’ Here is the list of the major categories and their nominations: DRAMA SERIES Boston Legal Grey's Anatomy Heroes House The Sopranos COMEDY SERIES Entourage The Office 30 Rock Two and a Half Men Ugly Betty ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES James Gandolfini, The Sopranos Hugh Laurie, House Denis Leary, Rescue Me James Spader, Boston Legal Kiefer Sutherland, 24 ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES Patricia Arquette, Medium Minnie Driver, The Riches Edie Falco, The Sopranos Sally Field, Brothers & Sisters Mariska Hargitay, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Kyra Sedgwick, The Closer SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES Michael Emerson, Lost Michael Imperioli, The Sopranos T.R.
