2007 Fall TV Preview: Bones On Fox Bones - Season 3

Premieres: Tuesday, September 25, at 8:00 p.m. EST
Network: Fox
Creator(s): Hart Hanson
Starring: Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz, Michaela Conlin, Eric Millegan, Tamara Taylor, and T. J. Thyne
Website: Fox.com

Bones, now heading into season three, stars Emily Deschanel as forensic anthropologist, Dr. Temperance Brennan (who is based on real-life forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs. Reichs is also credited as a producer on the show). Dr. Brennan specializes in identifying the remains of murder victims, using only their bones. Together with FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz), Brennan and her team of scientists (or “squints” as Booth likes to call them) work at the Jeffersonian Institution, in Washington D.C.

When we ended last season, Brennan’s fugitive father reappeared with information from Brennan’s past. On a personal note, Angela and Hodgins are all set to get hitched when their wedding is interrupted - it turns out that Angela is already married (she jumped over a broomstick with a guy in Fiji 4 years earlier!).

This season we can look forward to the squints tackling more awesome cases (Come on! Bones that look like a human glow stick? Awesome!). One thing that I’m hoping will happen is that Brennan and Booth finally resolve some of that sexual tension that they’ve been dealing with for the past 2 seasons!

Sadly, I didn’t watch the first season of Bones, not because I didn’t want to, but because it conflicted with another show that I religiously watched. That being said, I was able to watch season two of Bones and I have to say, this show rocks! It makes me want to go back to school again and become a forensic anthropologist. I want to be a squint! I enjoy this show more than any other “crime drama” show that I’ve watched (yes CSI: New York, that means you!). I do have to note that, as a die-hard obsessed Buffy and Angel fan, my first reason for watching Bones was David Boreanaz. That quickly changed, however, after watching just one episode. Between the cast (all of them, not just Boreanaz) and the strange cases, this show is a high priority on my TiVo season pass!

  • I would have to agree and tell you to get the first season of Bones on DVD or catch them on TNT now. I was getting worried that my favorite new David Boreanaz show. I am also a Buffy and Angel follower. I admit that the only reason that I was going to start watching Bones was because of David being the leading man. I look forward to the new episodes airing in April. If I could pick a new profession I would be a Forensic Anthropologist.
  • i think that bones and booth should just have sex because they know they want to but they do not know how to ask each other to but in the last show i saw that they stick up for each other and they would make a hot couple if they stated dating in tghe show i would jump up and down and be happy for the rest of my life. i also think that zack needs to go out with cam because i think he likes her and that would be fun and am i would love that it would be love at work that would be hot yes is would!
  • I so agree and relate - I was so disappointed when Buffy then Angel went off the air and was thrilled to see David back on prime time. I'm please to see how great he is in other roles - some people tend to get type-cast and he has managed to transition from "vampire with a soul" to "FBI agent" nicely!

Awesome show and I agree with Sharon's comment - treat yourself to the Season 1 DVD set - it's worth it!
  • I would have given it a 5. Just a suggestion - why don't you buy the DVD's for season 1. They are more than worth the price. Thanks for the article.
