Ever wonder what it must be like to be the kid of a famous musician? Do they always inherit their parent’s musical abilities? MTV is giving viewers a chance to find out with their new reality competition series, Rock the Cradle. Like American Idol, the contestants will perform before an audience and then viewers will be given the opportunity to vote for their favorites. Unlike the popular Fox series, Rock The Cradle’s contestants will all be the offspring of famous musicians. Below is the list of participants:

Landon Brown (Son of Bobby Brown)

Jesse Blaze Snider (Son of Dee Snider)

Crosby Loggins (Son of Kenny Loggins)

A’Keiba Burrell (Daughter of MC Hammer)

Lara Johnston (Daughter of Tom Johnston)

Chloe Lattanzi (Daughter of Olivia Newton John)

Lucy Walsh (Daughter of Joe Walsh)

Jesse Money (Daughter of Eddie Money) Lil B. Sure (Son of Al B. Sure)

Eh, I don’t know. Maybe it’s because I’m already caught up in American Idol right now but I’m not sure that I’m all that interested in another singing competition. Then again, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t at least a little bit curious to see if any of these people inherited their parents’ skills. The curiosity is mild at best though, so unless this series turns out to be surprisingly entertaining, I doubt I’ll get past the first episode.
