The series is set in 60’s and follows Draper and his co-workers, friends and family as they deal with the changes going on in the world around them and work hard to rise to the top of their careers and stay ahead of the curve. As the show takes place in the 60’s, gender roles are also often addressed in the series.
According to AMC’s website, the series will continue to “blur the lines between truth and lies, perception and reality” and Draper’s private life will get complicated in a new way.
Mad Men is one of those series that I didn’t watch in its first season and regret it. The premise didn’t really interest me. Then people started raving about this show and yet I still haven’t gotten around to getting caught up. So while I might check out the second season premiere, I’m guessing I’ll have to go back and watch the first season in order to fully appreciate Mad Men.
