2008 Winter TV Preview: According to Jim

According to Jim - Season 7Premieres: Tuesday, January 1 at 9:00 p.m. EST Network: ABC Creator(s):Tracy Newman, Jonathan Stark, Jim Belushi Starring:: Jim Belushi, Courtney Thorne-Smith, Larry Joe Campbell, Kimberly Williams-Paisley Website: ABC.com  Jim Belushi plays a macho guy-next-door type who drives his wife, Cheryl (Courtney Thorne-Smith) nuts with his stubborn manliness. She’s feisty, but usually worn out trying to take care of their three kids and keep the household running while Jim brings home the bacon from his construction job. His brother-in-law, Andy (Larry Joe Campbell) is a portly, likeable guy, and Cheryl’s sister, Dana (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) finally got married to a guy named Ryan. At the end of last season, Dana announced that she was pregnant.  Man, is this show STILL on?! I guess people identify with it because Jim and Cheryl are like the squabbling couple next door or the best girlfriend and her dolt-of-a-husband. I used to be a huge Jim Belushi fan. I loved some of his early movies, like Taking Care of Business, Mr. Destiny, and even Curly Sue. And he was HOT back then, but now...feh, he’s just devolved into this beer-guzzling, football-watching lame-brain. Gah! It’s just aggravating. But there ARE some good parts to the show, like when he gets together with his garage band, including Dan Aykroyd as Officer Danny Michalski. That’s a lot of fun. And he’s got that whole ‘brother of John Belushi’ thing going, too.   For the full 2008 Winter TV Premiere Schedule:
