Dancing With The Stars features a number of celebrities from different fields (actors, musicians, sports stars, etc) who are paired up with professional ballroom dancers. They train together and each week, the pairs compete against each other to win over the judges and the voting audience by performing a variety of ballroom style dances.

This year’s contestants include Olympic gold medallist figure skater, Kristi Yamaguchi, magician Penn Jilette, actresses Shannon Elizabeth and Marlee Matlin as well as a number of other known celebrities (see the series information list above for the full list of this season’s contestants).


I don’t know what it is but I just haven’t been able to get into this show. I’m not opposed to reality TV or anything. In fact, I watch American Idol every season and I got hooked on So You Think You Can Dance last year but for some reason, Dancing With the Stars hasn’t been able to hook me. It’s not for lack of trying either. Given the hype surrounding the show and the fact that I know a number of people who love it, I’ve tried to get into it but I just can’t. That said, I’ll probably check out the first episode or two to once again, attempt to see what all of the fuss is about.
