2008 Winter TV Preview: Making The Band 4

Making the Band 4 - Season 2Premieres: Monday, January 28 at 10 p.m. EST Network: MTV Creator(s): Sean “Diddy” Combs Starring:: Sean “Diddy” Combs Website: MTV.com  The all-male group handpicked by Sean “Diddy” Combs during season 1 of Making the Band 4 is moving back into the penthouse and gearing up for their journey into the music business, along with solo artist Donnie. They’ll be joined by the all-female group, Danity Kane. After winning Making the Band 3, the five girls released a self-titled debut album showcasing their passion for R&B, hip-hop and pop music. Yep, it’s the guys against the girls to see who will be the first to complete their album. Will bandmates Michael, Robert, Brian, Willie and Qwanell be the first to reach the finish line, or will it be smooth sailing for solo artist Donnie? Or will Danity Kane be the first to finish their second album? With all of them occupying the same space, you can bet on some interesting hookups, fights, and love-fests.  Personally, nothing about this show has intrigued me from the beginning. I watched a couple of episodes, but it wasn’t enough to spark my interest for more. And while I know that Combs was declared "One of the Most Influential Businessmen in the World" by Time Magazine, it’s hard to take anyone who named himself “Diddy” (on purpose) seriously.
