The tag line says it all: This season, a mother will become a warrior, a son will become a hero, and their only ally will be a friend from the future. Sounds like fun!
From the creators of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, this series is set after the events of Terminator 2: Judgment Day. After the sacrifices of Dr. Miles Dyson and the T-800 Model 101 Terminator, Sarah Connor (Lena Headey) and 15-year-old son John (Thomas Dekker) find themselves once again being stalked by Skynet's agents from the future.
Yep, the nightmare is nowhere near over, and they decide to stop running and try to prevent the birth of Skynet. With the aid of Cameron Phillips (Summer Glau), a beautiful girl with a mysterious past, they begin a quest stop the U.S. military from creating the program that will bring humanity to an end. On their trail are not only threats from the future, but an intelligent and tough FBI agent, James Ellison (Richard T.Jones), who soon becomes a powerful ally.
I’m looking forward to this show for a few reasons:
1) There’s not much else on. I need something fun and exciting to get me through the winter, and I’m seriously hoping this show will deliver the goods.
2) I like the actors. Lena Headey’s been in a ton of movies dating back to the early 90’s, but you might know her as Queen Gorgo in 2006’s 300. Thomas Dekker played Zach in Heroes and also did lots of voice work in kid flicks like Land Before Time and American Tail and their many sequels. Summer Glau tore up the screen as River Tam, the complicated girl from Firefly and its spinoff feature film Serenity. I knew there were big things in store for her, and my predictions are coming true.
3) It’s the Terminator. Let’s hope they don’t mess up the kick-ass trilogy that turned phrases like “I’ll be back” and “Come with me if you want to live” into household terms. But if I have to start working on my Linda Hamilton arms again, well…I’m gonna be really ticked off.
4) I’m feeling dark lately, and some gun-metal gray would fit nicely into my world right now.
