6 More Cartoons We Want To See Supernatural Cross Over With

Supernatural has tried just about every wacky way to put on an episode by this point in the thirteenth season, and the Scooby-Doo crossover may be the show's wackiest episode to date as Sam, Dean, and Castiel were sent into an animated adventure to interact with (and totally disillusion) the Scooby gang. The "Scoobynatural" crossover produced solid ratings for Supernatural, which leads us to wonder if more animated crossovers could happen. Read on for our picks of the best animated shows that could totally fit with Supernatural!

the flintstones hanna barbera

The Flintstones

The Winchester boys are no strangers to traveling back in time, but being sent back to a prehistoric time that has dinosaurs coexisting with people in animated glory? That would be a new one. Given Dean's enthusiasm for Scooby-Doo, it would make sense if he also watched The Flintstones as a kid, and I can practically already hear him yelling "Yabba dabba doo!" If the Impala didn't cross over with them like it did in "Scoobynatural," they would have to improvise weapons with whatever the Flintstones and Co. have on hand. They'd have a hard time getting their hands on iron, let alone shotguns and holy oil. Oh, the shenanigans that would ensue! Would Dean hit on Betty and Wilma like he did on Daphne? Probably, and he'd probably get the same results as he did with Daphne.

Archer

If a crossover with The Flintstones seems a little too G-rated for Supernatural (even after all the murder and mayhem of the Scooby-Doo crossover), a crossover with Archer would certainly be much more adult. Sam and Dean wouldn't have any problems getting weapons if they teamed up with the Archer group of spies, and what project isn't made immeasurably better with the vocal talents of H. Jon Benjamin? Dean would definitely be on board with Archer's love of women, booze, and shooting things, and I can imagine Sam commiserating with Lana over their antics. I'd almost want this crossover to happen on FXX than The CW so we could see the whole crew embracing all things Archer, but I'd take it for sure on The CW.

the simpsons homers fox

The Simpsons

Is there any list of animated shows that would be complete without The Simpsons? Admittedly, on the one hand, Supernatural and The Simpsons don't exactly share a genre the way Supernatural and Scooby-Doo kind of do, although The Simpsons did feature an X-Files crossover way back in the day. On the other hand, Supernatural and The Simpsons are basically the two shows that are going to be on forever. Supernatural just scored a renewal for Season 14! The apocalypse could come and destroy civilization as we know it, and Supernatural and The Simpsons would still be going. Of course they should cross over! If nothing else, the Winchester boys could drop by the annual Simpsons Halloween special.

batman the animated series batman joker

Batman: The Animated Series

Batman: The Animated Series is pretty widely considered one of the best animated series of all time. The voice cast (including Kevin Conroy as the Caped Crusader and Mark Hamill as one of the most chilling Jokers of all time) was stellar, the stories were dark and nuanced, and it brought a non-campy version of Batman to the small screen. Dean is a fan of Batman, and how much fun would it be to see the Winchester boys consistently outfought and outsmarted by Batman? Fans are used to seeing Sam and Dean kick ass and take names on Supernatural; pit them up against Batman, and hilarity would surely ensue. Both Conroy and Hamill have reprised their roles over the years, so perhaps they could even be convinced to contribute. I can practically hear the Boy Wonder jokes about Castiel already.

the addams family cartoon

The Addams Family

Honestly, part of me is surprised that Supernatural hasn't found a way to crossover with The Addams Family at some point in its thirteen seasons already, even if in live action rather than animation. The Addams family living in their spooky mansion seems like the exact kind of family Sam and Dean would have encountered over the years. In fact, the spooky mansion could be the perfect way to bring the Winchesters back into animation. Why couldn't they stumble on some kind of portal when investigating a real-life version of the Addams Family mansion and wind up hanging out with Gomez, Morticia, and Co.? Much, much stranger things have happened on Supernatural.

rick and morty adult swim

Rick And Morty

Perhaps the only more bizarre family unit getting into supernatural-esque shenanigans on TV is the duo of Rick and Morty. Alcoholic mad scientist Rick and his more easily distressed grandson Morty have even explored multiverses, so a crossover between Supernatural and Rick and Morty could technically be canon to Rick and Morty, simply taking place in one of the unexplored multiverses. The animation style for Rick and Morty is also strikingly different than Scooby-Doo, and it would be fun to see the Winchesters done up in Rick and Morty-style. Who knows? Maybe a crossover could even give Rick and Morty some of that Supernatural magic that has kept it going for more than a decade. Fans would certainly appreciate word of a renewal at this point.

Tune in to The CW on Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET for new episodes of Supernatural. For more of what to watch now and in the coming weeks, be sure to swing by our midseason TV premiere schedule and our summer TV premiere guide.
