Another January brings another season of 24 wherein Jack Bauer claims he’s retired and out of the terrorist-killin’ business. Anyone willing to bet this season won’t be made up of a single day of Bauer bouncing a grandchild on his knee while the government figures out how to save the country from certain danger without their unstoppable hero? “Season Eight resets in New York City where a retired JACK BAUER (Sutherland) is unwillingly drawn back into the intense action after learning of a plot to assassinate Middle Eastern peace-keeping leader OMAR HASSAN (Anil Kapoor). Meanwhile, RENEE WALKER (Annie Wersching) and CHLOE O’BRIAN (Mary Lynn Rajskub) return alongside CTU newcomers DANA WALSH (Katee Sackhoff), BRIAN HASTINGS (Mykelti Williamson) and COLE ORTIZ (Freddie Prinze Jr.).”
