The Big Bang Theory is ending and the cast is working through all that that means. While the show is coming to a close, the ins and outs of processing the reality are still being sifted through. Taking to her YouTube channel to reflect on the road ahead, Mayim Bialik took some time to channel her thoughts on that process. Including what's in store for the final season and the bittersweet aspect of the end not being immediate. Bialik said:

Usually, when things end like they end right away, it's not like this is gonna end in 23 episodes. So, it means that we have a whole season you know. We have through the end of April to explore what our writers are gonna give us. And you know my first thought was like -- does this mean that like crazy things are gonna happen in Season 12? I don't know. I think that our writers now get to really decide what they want this final season to look like.

Mayim Bialik filmed the video the day after news of The Big Bang Theory's twelfth season being its last was announced. As Bialik points out, many are in the dark as to what the final season will entail. The writers have to wrap up twelve seasons and leave the lives of characters that millions upon millions have been invested in, in a place where that feels like a natural transition. It is not a super easy task.

While there are a lot of unanswered questions as to what stories The Big Bang Theory will tell in its final season, we do know one thing. After years of lead up, Amy and Sheldon will begin the season as a married couple, and newlywed life should undoubtedly fuel its fair share of storylines. As for Mayim Bialik, the neuroscientist and actress is wondering what her future will involve when the show is over. And she has some thoughts on that as well. Bialik said:

I have a lot of mixed feelings. Obviously, this has been a part of my life for going on nine years, and our show has broken a lot of records. That's really crazy and amazing to be part of, and part of me feels like -- oh now, I get to see what the rest of my life will look like.

One thing you can rule out is Mayim Bialik returning to the world of academia. She revealed that with years away from that sphere, having returned to showbiz, she will not be working as a professor of neuroscience after The Big Bang Theory ends. As for what she can do afterward, Bialik revealed that she has an interest in producing and is definitely interested in acting again. She would also "love" to be in a movie.

So, the good news is that while The Big Bang Theory is ending, you can still expect to see more of Mayim Bialik, in the future. In the video on her YouTube channel, Bialik also took a moment to thank The Big Bang Theory's fans for their support. On Instagram, she posted a picture of her and co-star Jim Parsons with a sweet caption. See it for yourself below:
