It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown Airs Tuesday

As we’re headed into Halloween-week, I’ve been on the lookout for some of those rare Halloween TV specials. Sure, there are plenty of scary movies playing on TV this week but if you’re looking for fine family fun and maybe even a few flashbacks from your youth as opposed to nightmares (either your own or your kids’), thanks to ABC, families can gather in front of the TV together Tuesday night to watch a classic: It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

I remember watching this special numerous times throughout my youth and its caused me to wonder whether or not kids today will find it just as good as I did. The special’s been around since the ‘60’s though, so I guess if I thought it was still passable as great animated entertainment during my own childhood years, a couple of decades past the creation date of It’s the Great Pumpkin, I’m sure kids today will get a kick out if it as well.

Below are a couple of clips. I forgot just how cranky and bossy Lucy is.

It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown airs on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 8:00 PM ET.
