90210's Luke Perry And Jennie Garth Developing A Sitcom Together

With the Old Navy commercials bringing the cast of the original Beverly Hills, 90210 back together, and delivering little nods to the beloved Fox drama. And now it looks like two of the former stars of the series are set to reunite behind the scenes (and maybe on screen?) for a possible sitcom.

The story of Kelly and Dylan was one of the longer-running ongoing arcs on Beverly Hills, 90210. Personally, I also took issue with Kelly moving in on Dylan while Brenda was away. No amount of Kelly/Dylan childhood history excused Kelly breaking the friendship-code by letting herself get caught up in a romance with her BFF's boyfriend. That may have been why I never could get behind the Kelly/Dylan romance, even after Brenda was long gone. But there's something to be said for the nostalgic pleasure in seeing Jennie Garth and Luke Perry reunited in any capacity. That came recently in the form of an Old Navy commercial. And now it sounds like there's a chance the two could be back together for a TV sitcom.

RumorFix ran a story recently, debunking rumors that Garth and Perry were seeing each other, and then went on to post that Garth's rep says they're developing a sitcom together, which explains why they've been spending so much time together.

It will be a multi-camera half hour show, currently we have producers and writers and are meeting with networks.

Without knowing what it's about, it's hard to speculate where the show should land, but if Garth and Perry were to star, I'd say ABC Family would be a great place to host the series. Two other 90s TV icons, Joey Lawrence and Melissa Joan Hart, are currently taking up residence at ABC Family. A Perry/Garth-starring multi-camera comedy might fit in nicely next to Melissa and Joey. We'll have to wait and see what happens with this one.
