AMC's The Killing Preview: Episode 12, "Beau Soleil"

A few weeks ago, while previewing the ninth episode ("Undertow"), I commented on my love of the new AMC series, The Killing. Like many others, I was completely blown away by the show's pilot episode and the next few that followed. The atmospheric murder mystery offered something fresh and interesting to the bland landscape of TV police procedurals.

However, the last few weeks of the show saw a decline in both audience engagement and the quality of the storytelling. A MacGuffin terrorist narrative turned out to be less satisfying than the writers must have hoped, leaving me still hooked but wanting much more...a return to why I loved the show in the first place. Last week we got just that. In what you could call a left turn for the series, we spent the entire episode with Linden and Holder, just basking in their complicated characters, and it was a fantastic episode.

Let's hope the same is true for Episode 12. Here's a sneak peak at the upcoming ep, which immediately throws us back into the grief-stricken world of the Larson family. With only two episodes left, we might finally be getting close to learning who killed Rosie Larson.

The Killing is adapted from an award-winning Danish series of the same name (Forbrydelsen) and stars Mireille Enos, Billy Campbell, and Joel Kinnaman. It airs on Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on AMC.

Here's the official synopsis from The Killing's website.

Sarah and Holder connect Rosie to a suspicious website. Mayor Adams's waterfront project is halted. Stan faces his demons while Mitch learns secrets she never knew about Rosie.
