See How Battlestar Galactica Looks Set To The Friends Theme Song
What would Battlestar Galactica look like if it were Friends instead? We'll never know, and it's nearly impossible to picture. The sci-fi drama was anything but a 90s sitcom. And yet, one clever fan managed to give us a glimpse of such a scenario by setting BSG clips to the Friends classic theme song "I'll Be There For You," by the Rembrandts.
Ronald D. Moore's Disease Outbreak Thriller Helix Gets A Series Order At Syfy
Ronald D. Moore has another series in the works, and unlike 17th Precinct, which didn't make it past the pilot stage at NBC, this one is headed straight to series at Syfy, the network that played host to Moore's remake of Battlestar Galactica and Caprica, the spin-off series that followed. This one isn't about humanoid robots with a plan. Helix is a dark thriller about a disease outbreak.
Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome Bonus Clips Talk Visual Effects
Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome earned an avid fanbase when it was initially released as a web series. Now, the pilot-turned-webseries is hitting Blu-ray and DVD on February 19. If you’ve wondered about the ins and outs of the CGI creation in Blood & Chrome or even how the program came together, we have a couple of Blu-ray bonus features that may help to answer some of your questions.
Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome TV Premiere Date Set, Includes New Scenes
Battlestar Galactica fans, mark your calendars. Syfy has finally given us a premiere date for the pilot turned web series Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome, and it’s coming up fast. After a winding path the prequel wound up as a web series, with Syfy promising it would bring it to TV eventually. They're making good on the promise and will air it as a two-hour TV movie next month.
Syfy's 20th Anniversary Special Airs Tonight, Featuring Amanda Tapping, Jamie Bamber, Sam Witwer And Others
Twenty years ago, the Sci-Fi Channel debuted on U.S. cable television, and since then, the channel has offered us some of the more imaginative programming on television, whether it fall under actual science fiction, fantasy, reality or paranormal. Or wrestling. Don't forget wrestling! Syfy's celebrating its 20th Anniversary on television with a special that's set to air tonight and will feature the stars of some of its beloved shows.
Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome Webseries Premieres This Week, Watch The Trailer
Last winter, we learned that Syfy wasn't moving forward with Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome, the new, planned prequel to their hit series Battelstar Galactica. At that time, word was that the project might live on as a digital series. In less than a week, the first webisode is set to air online, and Syfy apparently has plans to air the pilot as a special next year.
Thank TV It's Friday: Reflecting On Our Favorite Friday Night Shows
It's Friday! And for some, that means the end of the work-week and weekend plans. For others, it's the day of Friday-night TV shows, including the return of Fringe and Grimm's move back to its regular time-slot. Some say Friday night is a bad night for TV, and granted, there's probably far less competition on the last night of the work-week than there is on any other weeknight. But that doesn't mean there's nothing to watch on Fridays.
Battlestar Galactica Composer Bear McCreary To Serve As Music Supervisor For Syfy's Defiance
I've been trying to avoid the words "the next Battlestar Galactica" when discussing Syfy's upcoming series Defiance. I don't want to set those kinds of expectations on the project, and the realist in me is tentative about piling all of my hopes on the drama. With that said, I doubt I'm alone in waiting for Syfy to deliver a new original drama series that is both outstanding and firmly in the realm of science fiction, much in the way BSG was. Written by Rockne O'Bannon, Kevin Murphy and Michael Taylor, Defiance could be both of those things.
Battlestar Galactica's Best Episode: The Oath
BSG is some of the finest fictional programming about war ever created, and "The Oath" is the apex of BSG's war episodes. It's impossible to watch it and not feel for all perspectives, and wonder, in the same situation, on which side you'd fall.
Battlestar Galactica: Blood And Chrome Won't Be A TV Series, But There's Hope...
I know there were a lot of people who liked Syfy’s Caprica, and really took to the Battlestar Galactica prequel, but I wasn’t among them. I gave it a shot, but it didn’t capture my interest in the way the Syfy drama/reboot did. From the unauthorized trailer for the newer prequel in the works, Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome looks like it leans more toward what many of us came to know and love from BSG, mixing drama, action, romance, Cylons, vipers and of course, blood and chrome.
Battlestar Galactica's Jamie Bamber To Star In David E. Kelley's TNT Pilot Chelsea General
While he hasn’t exactly become a household name (unless you live in a household that loves sci-fi), Jamie Bamber has been keeping busy since the completion of Syfy’s Battlestar Galactica. In addition to a steady gig on Law & Order: UK, he’s appeared on House and CSI: Miami. We also came close to seeing him in a starring role on network TV, but NBC ended up passing on the Precinct 17 pilot. Now, it looks like he may be headed back to cable for the British actor.
