He and his banner The Hurwitz Company will officially be creating and producing new comedies for Netflix for at least the next two years. It won’t only be inside jobs though, as Hurwitz will be looking to develop series with other creators in a non-writing capacity, though he would still be an executive producer and consultant.

The nominations for the 20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were announced today. As you may have surmised by the title, these awards celebrate excellence in acting as presented by the Screen Actors Guild (aka SAG). This year’s nominations put Behind the Candelabra stars Michael Douglas and Matt Damon up against one another, and the same for Top of the Lake’s Holly Hunter and Elisabeth Moss.
David Cross is guesting on Community next season? Try not to blue yourself over this news, but it’s happening, and I think I speak for all of us when I say, huzzah! The Arrested Development star is Greendale Community-bound, and joins the continuously growing list of guest stars set to appear in the NBC comedy at some point in its upcoming fifth season.
Nothing is official or set in stone yet, so it's probably a bit premature to start celebrating this news, but it sounds like there's a chance Arrested Development will be renewed for another season. This season’s disjointed structure and limited episodic focus was a far more successful way to tell this Bluthian story than I could have imagined, but the finale left me a tad too unfulfilled, and it hinted at the larger story that I wanted to get back into.
