Tragedy befell production of TNT’s sci-fi drama Falling Skies on Monday night, as a security guard was killed near the set in a most horrible and unpredictable manner. The Season 5 production was shut down today so that the proper authorities could handle the situation.
The Last Ship, the law-and-justice drama Major Crimes and the sci-fi thriller Falling Skies are all officially coming back for another season, though it will be the last trip for one of them.
Among the series to join TNT's line-up this summer is Michael Bay's The Last Ship, which unsurprisingly, looks pretty thrilling! TNT has given that one a June release date along with releasing the above trailer. The network also released a date and trailer for the fourth season of Falling Skies.
TV Blend writer Jessica Rawden has vowed to watch episodes of shows she’s never seen before and analyze those shows in different areas to let you, the reader, know how quickly you could become a fan. This week Jessica is tackling Falling Skies’ Season 3 Episode 9 drama “Journey to Xibalba.”
Thanks to Steven Spielberg’s executive producer credit, much was expected of Falling Skies when it premiered on TNT all the way back in June of 2011, but even so, I’m not sure anyone expected the alien invasion fallout drama to be consistently crush every summer. During most weeks, it’s among the most watched shows cable shows on television, and it’s already been renewed for a fourth season.
Just a few days ago TNT’s drama Falling Skies announced a presence at Comic Con this year for Friday, July 19 (with Wil Wheaton signed on to moderate as an added bonus). Stars and executives from the series will sign autographs and share some news regarding what’s coming up in the future. Instead of saving the biggest announcement for the day, however, the network jumped the gun a little on Tuesday, announcing that Falling Skies will return for a fourth season and is expected to air during the summer of 2014.
The Comic Con news that was once trickling in now seems to be trickling a bit faster. It's not quite a flood yet, and we might not expect it to be until SDCC announces each days full line-up of panels and those of us planning to attend begin the nerve-racking process of trying to figure out how we can attend all of the panels we want to attend, which - for any fan obsessed with more than one comic, TV show or movie franchise - is virtually impossible...

Summer may be months away, but it’s not too soon for networks to start planning out their primetime lineups. TNT laid out their summer plans, which include the return of Rizzoli & Isles, Franklin & Bash, and other shows, including the final season of The Closer. And there are some new series being added to the line-up, including the reboot of Dallas.
Terry O’Quinn knows a little something about TV shows centering on people in a struggle for survival, which likely makes him a good fit for the guest-starring role the actor is set to play in TNT’s returning drama Falling Skies.
Things are back up and running for TNT’s Falling Skies. The network announced that production for Season 2 got underway this week, and they were kind enough to release a photo of Noah Wyle on set and ready for action. It seems like the most famous man in filmmaking, Steven Spielberg, is taking this turn to producing television seriously. He's dabbled in the medium for a few years now but this year you can see his name in the credits when watching Falling Skies on TNT, or Terra Nova on Fox, or even Smash on NBC. And soon enough you'll see his name in the opening credits to a new Showtime series, right alongside an equally huge name: Stephen King.
