A&E's Longmire has already been shipped off to Netflix, newbie Those Who Kill was swiftly cancelled. And today, A&E revealed that freshman drama The Returned has suffered the same fate.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead has joined the cast of upcoming A&E series The Returned, and will have a prominent role in the series. The actress is set to play a character named Rowan, a young woman who lost her partner, Simon, a decade before the events in The Returned will start. Additionally, Sandrine Holt and Agnes Bruckner have also taken roles in The Returned.
It looks like Kevin Alejandro has found his next steady gig. The actor had a solid run on The CW's Arrow and is now moving over to basic cable with a role as a series regular on Carlton Cuse's The Returned. Also joining the cast are Once Upon a Time in Wonderland's Sophie Lowe, and Revolution's Mat Vairo.
Not long after word has come down that CW would not be moving forward with a second season of The Tomorrow People, Mark Pellegrino has already found his next role. The Lost alum will be reuniting with Carlton Cuse for A&E's planned adaptation of the French drama The Returned.
When ABC debuted their midseason drama Resurrection, a lot of people assumed it was a remake of the French series The Returned, based on its very similar premise. However that wasn't the case. But we are getting a U.S. remake of the French drama after all, courtesy of Carlton Cuse and Raelle Tucker, whose adaptation of the series will air on A&E.
ABC has picked up another drama for its development slate late in the season, this time from Brad Pitt’s Production Company, Plan B. The project is based on a yet-to-be published book called The Returned by Jason Mott, which apparently set off a bidding war for the rights, which was won by Plan B and Brillstein Entertainment Partners for their first project together and was then brought to ABC Studios.
