It seems like there's some confusion over who's the star of this show among its cast. Amusing segments aside, what's evident here is that We Are Men has some funny male leads sharing the spotlight. The comedy stars Tony Shalhoub, Jerry O'Connell, Kal Penn and Chris Smith together, playing four men living in a short-term apartment complex and attempting to ride out the aftermath of their individual romantic troubles.
Tony Shalhoub is prepping to play a divorced man. The Monk actor is headed to CBS, where he will play Frank, a ladies man who has gotten married and then divorced four times. In the untitled series (formerly known as Ex-Men), Shalhoub will live in a short-term living center filled with mostly older dudes in similar romantic situations.
Among the comedy projects in development for NBC is Greg Daniels' U.S. remake of Friday Night Dinner. Two major bits of casting news related to the project were reported today. Their Emmys speak for themselves, but excessive praise for past performances is probably still deserved for both Allison Janney and Tony Shalhoub, both of whom are set to star in Danielsí pilot.
As the final season of Monk is set to premiere on USA next month, Tony Shalhoub was kind enough to take time out from his family reunion in Wisconsin to participate in a conference call with the press about the series.
