There's bad news and good news, which do you want first? We'll start with the good news: Community has a return date! The comedy will return for Season 5 on January 2. Better news is that's a Thursday, in other words, not a Friday or any other non-Thursday day. Of course, for Community to have a spot on Thursday's line-up, one comedy would have to step aside, and it looks like it's Welcome to the Family that's getting the axe.
Since Yes, Dear wrapped up, Mike O'Malley's bounced from one guest starring or recurring gig to the other, My Name is Earl, Justified and Glee included. Tonight, NBC puts him back in a starring role in a comedy with Mike Sikowitz's new series Welcome to the Family, a comedy that boasts a promising foursome of parents who are about to become grandparents. The problem is, their kids are barely out of high school.
NBC's giving viewers an early look at two of their new shows. One's a fun family comedy, while the other's a gritty detective series. First up, we have Welcome to the Family, a single-camera comedy about two families that are about to be united by teen pregnancy. Watch the full first episode of this series below:
Family seems to be a key ingredient among NBC's new Thursday night comedies lined up for the fall. That's especially true for Welcome to the Family, a comedy which has two high school graduates deciding to get married when they find out they're expecting a baby. The twist here - besides two kids having a baby - is the culture clash between the two families involved.
NBC’s Welcome to the Family, a multi-cultural comedy pilot from Rules of Engagement’s Mike Sikowitz, has added another face to the cast. The latest addition is In Plain Sight’s Mary McCormack.
NBC has given the greenlight to another comedy pilot, bringing their total this season to eleven and four just in the past two days. The latest to get the go-ahead is the Mike Sikowitz multi-cultural comedy Welcome To The Family.
