ABC 2012 Midseason Premiere: MissingAuthor: Kelly West

ABC has an interesting looking series set to premiere during midseason that sounds like a combination of the films Double Jeopardy and Taken. In Missing Ashley Judd plays a former CIA agent whose son goes missing in Europe. She has a special set of skills and…well… you can probably guess what happens next.
When writing up the story on CBS’ Person of Interest, I commented on how I think the better super-hero stories on TV will be the ones involving non-super people doing super things. No capes. No tights. Just regular people with the right kind of motivation. Missing seems to fall under that category. I won’t try to argue that Double Jeopardy’s the greatest suspense thriller ever made, but in that film, Judd proved she can play a strong, realistically emotional, capable woman-on-a-mission, which makes it easy to picture her in this new role. I’m excited and optimistic for this one. I just wish ABC had it on the schedule for the fall instead of next year. Below is ABC’s synopsis for the series and further down are a few clips from the premiere episode: Becca Winstone (Ashley Judd) learns that her son, Michael, disappears while studying abroad, and it's a race against time when she travels to Europe to track him down. A surprising turn of events reveals just how far one mother will go to protect her family. Exotic locations and thrilling twists will keep you riveted in Missing. Missing will air on ABC during Midseason 2012. CLICK HERE to view ABC’s Fall 2011 Primetime Schedule. Back to top
