ABC’s Last Man Standing has been holding its own on the network, likely due in large part to the appeal of the series’ star Tim Allen, who made a name for himself in television and then went on to achieve more success in film, before returning to TV and to the network that played host to Home Improvement for the duration of its over-200 episode run.

Deadline reported good news for Last Man Standing, stating that ABC has given the comedy series an order for two more episodes to tack onto its first season, bringing the comedy’s freshman season to a total of 24 episodes. As the website notes, Last Man Standing’s most recent episode took in 7.6 million viewers in Live+Same Day, with a 2.1/6 rating among adults 18-49. While those aren’t exactly Modern Family numbers, they’re decent enough and apparently worthy of extending the first season by two episodes.

Last Man Standing is a multi-camera comedy that stars Allen and Nancy Travis and follows a man who works for an outdoor sporting goods store in Colorado and who is surrounded by women at home, with a wife and three daughters. The series airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on ABC.
