ABC's Fall Line-up Announced

By Kelly West: 2006-05-16 00:00:00

ABC's Fall Line-up Announced The ABC 2006 fall line up has been announced and it looks like this fall might be the start of another great season for the Disney owned Network. With shows like ‘Lost’ and ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ returning, not to mention some of the new ABC shows that’ll be premiering, it wont be a surprise if viewers start to notice dust collecting on their remote controls.

Not all of ABC’s shows were hits this season. ‘Commander in Chief’ and ‘Invasion’ have been cancelled in order to make room for some of the new dramas that look like they might have a bit more success in the ratings. J.J. Abrams’ (‘Lost’, ‘Alias’) new show, ‘Six Degrees’ could be the show that makes ABC the network to watch on Thursday Nights. ‘Six Degrees’ will follow ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, which will be settling into it’s new timeslot of 9-10 pm on Thursday evenings. The new show ‘Brothers and Sisters’ will be taking over the ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ timeslot on Sunday night’s at 10 pm. It’s likely the network is hoping the new show will be able to mooch off Desperate Housewives’ large fan base with the same success that ‘Anatomy’ had.

Much Love to Entertainment Weekly for providing the line-up in list-form. New shows are listed in CAPS.

  1. Allison Says:

I hate that they are moving Gray's Anatomy to Thursdays. Many college students go out on Thursday nights and I believe that it will really hurt the ratings. More people will watch the show on a Sunday rather than on a Thursday.

  1. Steve Says:

Awesome. ABC does it again. Take a great show which is doing well on what is normally ABC's night in drama, and move it.

    Stupid ABC.

At least with Earl and Office moving that won't conflict.

  1. PAC Says:

    MOVING GRAY'S IS A MISTAKE

  1. Amy Says:

Why is Boston Legal still listed? Didn't that show end last night?

What were the exec's thinking in cancelling Invasion? They could hire me--I'd take less money and keep the good shows!

  1. Debbie Says:

You guys never learn! You take a good show like Invasion, and just because the ratings aren't in the top 10 you cancel it! Don't you think your loyal viewers "us" deserve some closure on these shows that we religiously watch all season, are left with a cliff hanger in May, and then the show never returns in the fall? I would think that you would like to keep these "loyal viewers", but I guess that doesn't maker to you rating hungry ABC Exec's because season after season, all you ever do is SCREW US OVER! I think I may just have to stick with watching NBC & CBS this fall...........

  1. jim Says:

invasion was awsome to bad abc dosn't know what a good show is, maybe another network will pick it up

  1. kevin Says:

Invasion was a great show. If you want to ditch a show ditch dancing with the stars...

  1. Bluenote Says:

I can't believe they cancelled Invasion. That is one of the best shows out there. Instead they keep Dancing with the Stars and Super Nanny. I am sooooo tired of reality TV shows.

  1. Ron Says:

So glad you cancelled "Jake in Progress." It was a losing show all around. Bad casting, cheap writing, horrible acting. Thank you for doing the world a favor ABC!!!!

  1. Kathy Kelly Says:

I can't believe Invasion was cancelled. I really think you should reconsider. I got most of my office watching it mid season and they are hooked. It's a different show than any others with great characters. Please reconsider!!!

  1. Henna Says:

why u guys cancelled Freddie....it was a great show

  1. Marcy Says:

Not Sure Why these networks put so much effort into these show and cancel them after one season. Most shows that last the longest are the ones that start the slowest. Invasion was one of my favorite shows this season, and believe me there is not a lot of them. Getting sick of watching them and they disappear. Get Life.

  1. connie galaviz Says:

    Don't cancel Freddie

It's hilarious and one of the few shows I don't have to chase my kids out of the room to watch. Come on does it have to be all t & a?

  1. Sam Says:

I agree with many of you, Invasion is one of my favoite show. My 12 year old son loves this show, I let him stay up and we watched the show together. I can't believe ABC cancelled the show and left us with a cliffhanger like that. Hopefully, they'll realize how many fans the show has and bring it back. One can hope, right?

  1. Waverly Says:

I just wanted to throw my hat in with the Invasion enthusiasts! How they will ever find a better show to follow Lost, I'll never know! Please reconsider cancelling Invasion. I truly believe it to be one of the best shows on television!

  1. Samster Says:

Ditto on the INVASION comments: I am also a fan - which surprised me, since I hated the promos. The Network did very little to promote it - shows like LOST, GREY'S ANATOMY and DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES got all the attention from network publicity.

I hope it is given a second chance in an earlier time slot. The show never found the teen market since it was on so late and the delays in airing new episodes did not help matters at all.

The writing and production values were much better than anticipated and I really got hooked on the characters after a few episodes.

  1. LORI Says:

DO NOT CANCEL INVASION. THAT WAS ONE SHOW I NEVER MISSED. MY FRIENDS AND I THINK IT WOULD BE A BIG MISTAKE TO CANCEL INVASION.

  1. Mary Says:

I think moving Grey's Anatomy is a mistake. It was perfect in the line up for Sunday night following Desperate Housewives. Also, I think cancelling Commander in Chief was a mistake. That would have been a great show if given a chance.

  1. Jodie Says:

I agree with the Invasion comments. That show was great. The season finale left you on the edge of your seat and now they take it off. How do you do that to people that are into the show????? Better rethink bring it back on.

  1. Melodie Palmer Says:

What happened to the pilot "October Road?" It sounded like it would be a hit!

  1. margaret clarke Says:

my god has A.B.C. finally gone off the deep end, why move Gray's Anatomy from Sunday to Thursday just when you think they are doing a gret job they blow it ......PUT IT BACK ON SUNDAY!!!!!!

  1. April Says:

Why did you move Grey's Anatomy!?!? It was perfect where it was! Now it's randomly in the middle of the week. Who does that?

  1. Shari Says:

I agree with everyone else about the show invasion. It was my favorite I really looked forward to Wednesday nights first I got lost and then I got invaded!!!!! Take off some of those reality shows like supernannny and wife swap. We live reality everyday we don't need to watch it. When we turn on the tv we like to get LOST & HOPEFULLY INVADED!!!( INVASION BRING IT BACK)

  1. Maria Says:

Please change Grey's Anatomy to Sunday, what is that in the middle of the week.
Also please bring back Invasion, we need to see the continue saga, not being left
with a cliffhanger, what is that!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Richard Says:

I also agree with everyone else about Invasion. It was the best show on TV (yes, better than Grey's Anatomy) and it is a shame ABC can't see a winner when they have one. Hopefully they will realize their mistake and bring it back, or another station will pick it up. Chances are, however, ABC is too dumb to see the writing on the wall (or in this case everyone's comments about how great the show is). Take off one of the MANY reality TV shows that are horrible (yes, people are tired of SOOOOOOO many of them) and BRING INVASION BACK!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Jody Says:

So no more invasion? How cruel can these networks be? Why would you drop it like that? I agree with the fact that we live reality everyday. TV is to get away from it all. Get rid of those shows. I dont even know what any of them are called because I hate them so much. I like the fantasy world that TV use to be. I also dont think moving Grey's Anatomy to Thursday's was such a good idea. Its best time slot should be 9 pm on Sunday. Perfect timing!

  1. Judy James Says:

I didn't know that "INVASION" had been cancelled. I couldn't wait for the fall season, but now am really "bummed". I just can't believe it! It was my favorite show, and I also love "Lost" and "Commander in Chief". I hope ABC will reconsider, or another network will be smarter and pick it up. WHY DO THEY KEEP THE REALITY JUNK? The American public stoops to new lows by watching such drivel. I definitely will be looking for interesting shows on the other networks. ABC really needs to realize what people want.

  1. Javon & Randy Says:

My husband and I are also Invasion fans. We recorded every episode on our TiVo. We were so anxious to find out what would happen with the town of Homestead. The final episode was great and had us on the edge of our seats. Much to our dissappointment and disgust we found that ABC had cancelled the show. We need some closure here!! We are so UPSET with the ABC Execs... how could they drop such an intriguing show like Invasion and keep a brain dead show like Wife Swap on the air??
Maybe we should all take ABC Execs to the water and push them in =0).

  1. Laurie Says:

I also agree with all the other comments that the ABC execs are mad!!!! How could they cancel Invasion???? They were finally on the upswing with better shows, so lets just cancel one of the best ones of last season....go figure?
    Sci-fi Channel HELP!

  1. Tracy Says:

Bring back Invasion! That show was so good and should not of been cancelled!

  1. STephon Says:

Invasion was the best show why cancel it. ABC sucks for that. I loed that show man.

  1. Mary Ann Says:

Why do all these networks cancel the good shows and still run the ones we cannot stand? I did not think I would like Invasion but watched it one night after Lost and was hooked from there on out. I also agree with needing to leave Grey's Antomy on Sunday, it was perfect right after Desperate Housewives. Why do the networks always mess with a good thing?

  1. Cindy Says:

I agree, I can't believe that ABC cancelled Invasion, Lost and Invasion are my favorite shows. Everyone I work with watches them and then the next day we cant wait to get to work to rehash everything. ABC what are you thinking!!!
I agree get rid of some of the reality TV Shows we are bombarded with. Leave the
good stuff alone. Please reconsider. I have waited all summer to see what happened to everyone from the finally.

  1. PAULA Says:

I don't care that grey's anatomy got moved to Thurs. I'd follow it wherever it goes. I'm still amazed that Judging Amy was cancelled last year. It was the best drama on t.v. Thank GOD we at least have Grey's now, no matter when it's on.

  1. Voxie Says:

Canceling Freddy is a huge disappointment. Not enough good humor in ABC line up. Life is already to serious we viewers need to laugh! And new show ’NOTES FROM THE UNDERBELLY’ ... sounds really lame! Bring back freddy!!

  1. Sharon Says:

Finally you'v get a great team of writers on INVASION that leave us on the edge. Then what happens the "exe's" who obviously are NOT in touch with what ppl want.Yank the show off, just cos its not in the top 10. Does it allways ahve to be about the money.. Why not show 'Quality" shows that the whole family can sit down & watch. I cannot stand another reality showing up on the networks. I live in 'reality' thank you very much every day. I want the chance to escape to a show that entertains me and makes me want to come back for more.. Which INVASION & Commander in Chief did. I mean Wow was Commander a drama that i got my 'hooks' in too. I would TiVo both of these shows, wait excitedly to watch them both . Shame on your Exe's @ ABC. I say push them into the sea. My only hope is that a more intelligent and 'risk taking' network will step up to the plate. Shame on you ABC

  1. Stacy Says:

That's total crape!!! I just found out that INVASION was cancelled. With a cliffhanger like that you can't just cancel a show. I strongly agree that ABC should bring it back or at least give us an ending. Or another network should pick it up. Grey's Anatomy was perfect on Sunday's after Deperate. There is already tooooo much competion on Thursday nights, it's definatly "Must Watch Tv" but so was Sunday Nights. Does anyone from ABC even read all these comments or is everyone just wasting their time. Well if someone from ABC is really reading these comments then show us that our commitment & love for these shows is not all for nothing & take into consideration to what we have said & bring back INVASION & put Grey's back after Desperate. Why should any of us watch the new shows on the line up, your just going to cancel them after we all get hooked. Or wait is that your MO & if it is you should really reconsider. BRING BACK INVASION!! PUT GREY'S BACK!! BRING BACK INVASION!! PUT GREY'S BACK!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! You should really do these things we ask if our loyalty means anything to you at all.

  1. Ed Says:

I cannot believe Invasion was axed. What a great show and I think I am going to boycott ABC and stop watching lost as CBS, FOX, and (to some extend) CBS are actually "in touch" with their viewers. Mark my words, if LOST does not pick up somewhat, people will stop watching and this will leave this idiotic network with 1 hit show. Pretty sad!

I hope another network picks up Invasion and reaps the benefits and the big shots must be asleep at the boardroom and only care about lining their pockets! If more people stop watching ABC, maybe they will wake up!

    A pissed "former" viewer

  1. cathy Says:

i never watched abc until last year when i got hooked on lost and invasion.they really never had anything good to watch.now look they had a great show like invasion and they take it off the air but not before leaving us all hanging.that sucks.i only remembered to watch lost because it came on before invasion.i hope the sci-fi channel picks it up.they seem to be a much brighter bunch then the ppl at abc...well you have lost another viewer here...

  1. gabe Says:

abc is the worst station on tv I'd rather watch pbs 99% of the time. All they had was "Lost" and "Invasion" and Lost is getting pretty boring. -uck you ABC I hope your happy.

  1. james Says:

invasion was also one of my favorate shoes and now that its gone ill not be watching much of abc to bad it was a great show

  1. nikki Says:

Ugghhhhh - Where's the "Sons and Daughters" ? I cant believe it's not in for Fall. I thought it would make it on for sure...very funny show and I love the true to life situations. It was definetly a show that made me laugh out loud! Any news on Sons and Daughters or how to get a copy of the handful of shows that were on?

  1. Mary Says:

I can't believe ABC would cancel INVASION! It was the perfect show to watch after LOST and now we're apparently stuck with some other show. Get rid of Dancing With The Stars!! Who cares which stars can dance and which can't. These "stars" are only doing that show for the publicity. Instead we were left with a cliffhanger in May on Invasion and no way to resolve what happened!!! Bring back Invasion!!!!

  1. Jenny Says:

Grey's Anatomy - don't watch it - but Alias was a top show and when they moved it from Sunday to Thursday/Wednesday - it died. CBS' cancellation of JUDGING AMY - one of the best dramas on t.v. - thoughtful, funny, touching, intelligent was STUPID - and you can't buy a "genuine" DVD of the program anywhere - just bootlegs - but you can get LOST - season 2 in a few days - go figure -- and I am a LOST fan - although - I'm losing interest. I don't understand why we need Law & Order Traffic School and/or CSI Pittsburgh, Big Brother 18....God help us all.

  1. Dana Says:

INVASION WAS CANCELLED?? I can't beleive it! It was a great show. I was so looking forward to the new season. You leave those stupid reality shows on and take off an exciting show like invasion. What are you people thinking???

  1. scott sixkiller Says:

why did you cancel Freddie?!! it was one of the better shows on television in a long time! SOMEBODY has to pick it up.

  1. Jeremy Says:

It was a really stupid move to get rid of invasion. it was a show that, while not being the #1 show in it's time slot, was able to eat up everyone who was not watching the #1 show. It did have a decent number of viewers each week.

  1. Betty Says:

Why cancel According to Jim? I actually watch that show and it wa one my kids could watch. Please bring it back!!!!!

  1. Rick Says:

Where's Invasion?????? Guess Ill be watching one less hour of ABC on Wednesdays. I am tired of following shows that disappear the next year. AnotherBadCancellation!

  1. Toyia Says:

I know it is a VERY late comment, but I am still affected to this day. Please reconsider Invasion! It can be put in after Lost season, during the summer. I was dedicated to that show ( as I am to Desperate Housewives, Lost and Grey's Anatomy). I still want it back... ITS NOT TOO LATE!!!

  1. Kim Says:

What happened to October Road; even my husband who won't watch drama's like that one.

  1. shelby Says:

Im so in love with desprate housewives and me n my freinds always have people come over i have a party every sunday so that we can all just watch it we r in LOVE with it!!!!!
SOoo..ne ways if its not on tonight im going to jump into the tv n flip out on abc b/c they always cancel it to play freaking home edition blah blah blah
thanks if u play it tongiht!!!!!!!!
    LOVE SHELBY!!!
