As of right now, ABC may just be King of the Hill’s only hope of being renewed. While the fate of the series still hangs in the balance, the fate of King’s reruns has been decided. Adult Swim is making room in their expanding lineup for the animated series.
The Hollywood Reporter posted the news, stating that Adult Swim, which is the late-night sibling of the Cartoon Network obtained exclusive cable rerun rights to King of the Hill. FX currently has the rights to the series but their deal ends in December. The article went on to say that Adult Swim has no plans to order new episodes of King of the Hill, which was recently cancelled by Fox after thirteen seasons.
And speaking of Adult Swim, the network will be expanding their programming by an hour come this January. Right now it airs from 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM Monday-Saturday and 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM Sunday. Starting in January, Adult Swim will begin broadcasting at 10:00 PM seven days a week. King of the Hill reruns are set to begin airing at 10:00 PM in January.
