American Horror Story: Asylum's First Trailer Is As Creepy And Weird As You'd Expect

FX has dropped its very first trailer for American Horror Story: Asylum, and it’s about as indirect and peculiar as fans would expect. In the short-and-sweet 19-second segment, a veiled woman traipses toward the woods, carrying several buckets that seem burdensome. Church bells ring in the distance as the woman dumps out the contents of one bucket and heads into some potentially frightening woods with the other.

Quite frankly, I was most excited about seeing the adjusted title for the second season of the series in print. American Horror Story: Asylum adds an air of creepiness to a title that already gives me goosebumps. In particular, I like the graphic line cutting the word “asylum” off from the rest of the title.

Though the trailer isn’t particularly satisfying, we can hardly be angry with FX, which has been busy introducing fans to all of the new members of this season’s cast, including James Cromwell and Joseph Fiennes. That's been quite a feat since showrunner Ryan Murphy very nearly had to hire a whole new cast for the upcoming season, set in the 1960s. The network has even tossed out the first set photo to appeal to fans. Producers has proven adept at reminding fans a new season is on the way and we hope the show keeps it up before Asylum airs.
