American Idol Contestant Symone Black Takes A Fall But She's Reportedly OK

The Hollywood rounds have commenced in Season 11 of American Idol, and there’s already drama. Last night’s episode ended with a cliff-hanger as a contestant took a tumble off the stage, just as the credits began to roll. If, like me, your DVR somehow managed to cut off the last minute of the episode, watch it ahead.

16-year-old contestant Symone Black stumbled over the edge of the stage following her audition, which is pretty serious, given the height of the stage. As you’ll see in the video below, she does her audition (rather well) and then as she’s talking to the judges, she seems to get disoriented, which might have seemed like nerves until she starts stepping forward, possibly trying to keep from falling, and then she falls...



Now, it’s possible she just lost her footing somehow and fell but it seems like she passed out, or was on the verge of passing out when she fell. Regardless, E! Online posted an update on her status and an Idol rep confirms that Symone is OK, which is certainly good news.

According to Nigel Lythgoe, we’ll get some kind of follow-up to last night’s final moment during tonight’s episode. He tweeted:

I know you're all going crazy. You'll have to wait until tomorrow. That's why I'm a mean producer.
