Conan and Andy together again? You don’t say! NBC announced today that Andy Richter will be the announcer for The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien. It’ll be like old times (kind of)! It’s been almost nine years since Richter and O’Brien worked together on a daily basis but it looks like it’s really happening.

"Andy is one of the funniest people I know and we've maintained a close friendship since he left Late Night, said O'Brien. "We have a proven chemistry that will be an incredible asset to The Tonight Show. I'm looking forward to working with Andy on a daily basis again, particularly since he owes me $300."

Richter served as Conan O’Brien’s faithful sidekick on Late Night from 1993 through 2000. Since then he starred in the Emmy nominated Andy Richter Controls the Universe and more recently, the series Andy Barker, P.I. on NBC. I’m sure many fans of both O’Brien and Richter will be happy to know that the two are teaming up again when O’Brien takes over as host of The Tonight Show on June 1, 2009.
