Archer Preview: Season 3, Episode 6 - Bloody Ferlin

As a spoof of the spy genre, FX's animated comedy Archer often sees its spies venturing to far off and exotic locales in order to perform acts of international espionage. This week's episode, "Bloody Ferlin," is no different as it finds Archer, Ray and Carol (at least) traveling to the lovely and distant, uh, West Virginia. Okay, so it looks like this week will be a bit different for the parody but as long as it's as funny as the rest of the third season so far, there's certainly nothing to worry about. And besides, Archer and Ray in trucker hats and flannel, who wouldn't want to see that?

Obviously the first thing that comes to mind when watching the preview for "Bloody Ferlin" was, when the hell did Ray get the use of his legs back? I'm assuming they will clear that up at the beginning of the episode but it was more than a little jarring to see Secret Agent Gillette out of his wheelchair. I guess that's it for jokes about the field agent being paralyzed. Oh well, it was good while it lasted. The clip also only shows Archer, Ray and Carol so I wonder what the rest of ISIS is up to this week? Surely there's some comedy to be had by sending Lana into the deep south because, well, you know... And I have no idea what a 'Ferlin' is (the country singer?), let alone a bloody one so I'm looking forward to finding out.

Archer airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on FX. It stars H. Jon Benjamin, Aisha Tyler, Jessica Walters, Judy Greer, Chris Parnell and Amber Nash. It was created by Adam Reed.
