For those of you who’ve been itching to rewatch Arrested Development or if you’re among the non-fans who think it might be time to give the series a try, IFC announced today that they’ll be airing episodes on Sunday and Tuesday nights, starting October 25th!
I didn’t get into Arrested Development until after the series was cancelled. I’d seen part of an episode when it was on the air and thought it wasn’t the kind of show that would appeal to me. The humor seemed a bit on the goofy side and I didn’t totally get most of the jokes. When I finally got around to watching it from the beginning, determined to see if the show was worth the hype, I found that it definitely is. It's a series with the kind of humor that grows on you if you're willing to let it. And then it becomes brilliant. Below is part of the announcement the Independent Film Channel made today. “ IFC has acquired Twentieth Television's complete three-season library (53 episodes) of the Golden Globe® and Emmy® Award-winning series, Arrested Development, it was announced today by Greg Meidel, President of Twentieth Television and Jennifer Caserta, Executive Vice President & General Manager of IFC. The network will launch the critically acclaimed show on Sunday, October 25 at 10 pm, ET/PT and air two episodes back-to-back, Sundays at 10 pm, and Tuesdays at 9 pm in the network's "Automat," a four-hour branded block of programming packed with exclusive uncut, uncensored content, including testosterone-infused network premieres, originals, shorts, web shows, anime and more. The addition of Arrested Development on IFC's schedule comes on the heels of the network's Python-A-Thon, including the premiere of the six-part documentary "Monty Python: Almost the Truth (The Lawyer's Cut)" and the acquisition of Monty Python's Flying Circus. |
