Last night, season 3 of ‘Battlestar Galactica’ came to end, leaving fans with their minds virtually blown. Baltar’s trial got wrapped up, a dead character returned and the identities of four of the “final five” Cylons’ were revealed not only to viewers but to the characters themselves, as well. Viewers of the show will have to wait until next January to find out what happens next but in the meantime, ‘BSG’ executive producer, Ron Moore was willing to answer some questions about the episode and the fate of some of the characters.
Post-gazette.com interviewed Ron Moore and managed to get quite a few interesting bits of information. When asked if the four characters (Tigh, Chief, Tory and Anders) were in fact “full Cylons,” Moore responded by confirming that they are but that they’re “different fundamentally” and that he thinks we might get to meet the fifth Cylon some time next season. With regards to the fate of the four newly-known Cylons, Moore said “Those four are trying to figure out their own story. They don't really understand what this all means. Tigh's been in two wars and wondering, how could this be? A part of next season's storylines will uncover how they came to be who they are and the specifics of that.” Post-gazette.com asked Moore if Apollo really saw Starbuck or if she was just in his head, which is something many fans are wondering. Apparently that was Moore’s intention. His response was, “It's exactly the kind of thing I want people to chew over the next few months.” He did confirm that Katee Sackhoff is signed on for next season. In terms of the extra episodes the network plans to air later this year, Moore confirmed that they will be two flashback episodes that will involve the Pegasus and Admiral Cain, “There is a tie from these episodes into the events in season four. ... It's an opportunity to set up something for the fourth season that had not been told to the audience and that the characters themselves hadn't realized, and then go into the fourth season.” When asked what fans can expect from the fourth season, Moore said, “It's about new alliances and broken alliances among the panoply of our characters within the rag tag fleet and without. Different allegiances in terms of loyalties, relationships broken and some new ones formed. All the pieces line up in different ways than they have heretofore.” To read the full interview, which includes information about Roslin’s cancer, The “Caprica” project, half-human-half-cylon babies and more, visit Post-gazette.com.
