Betty White Is Hot... In Cleveland

TV watchers hoping to see more of Betty White on the small screen have more to look forward to than the appearance she’ll be making on Saturday Night Live. She’s also been signed on to play a role in the new sitcom Hot in Cleveland.

TV Land announced the news today, stating that White will join co-stars Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leevs and Wendie Malick in their new original series Hot in Cleveland. The show follows a group of women who, after their plane makes an emergency landing in Cleveland, decide to rent a place and stay in the area for a while. White’s been cast to play the role of Elka Ostrovsky, the caretaker of the rented home. Her character is described as “snarky but lovable,” which sounds like it’ll be right up White’s alley!

Hot in Cleveland is scheduled to premiere in June on TV Land and is written by Suzanne Martin (Frazier, Ellen). The network gave the series, which is their first scripted comedy show, a 10-episode order.
