"Sunday Best" didn't really pick up the pace but it was still one of the more interesting episodes of Boardwalk Empire this season. The third has been a snail compared to the previous two seasons as the show sets up multi-city conflicts and the sprawling story while still devoting a substantial amount of screen time to character building.

In fact, last week's installment almost skipped bootlegging altogether in order to watch the various players celebrate Easter but it did end on a pretty intense business meeting between Gyp and Masseria that should have consequences that spill across the entire East Coast. The preview for Episode 8, "The Pony," shows Gyp starting to make good on his promise to kill all their enemies by returning to the boardwalk for a little reconnaissance. He'd have no idea what that means. Maybe Gillian will tell him. That's right, Gillian. Take a look...

On top of Gyp and Gillian entering some kind of weird agreement, the trailer also shows some other interesting developments in Atlantic City (Richard out for more revenge? Margaret making out with Owen?) as well as a long-awaited return to Chicago. It seems like ages since we last saw Capone and this time, with Van Alden working as muscle for O'Banion, it looks even more intense. I want to see those two looneys square off!

Boardwalk Empire airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO. Created by Terence Winter, it stars Steve Buscemi, Kelly Macdonald, Michael Shannon, Shea Whigham, Vincent Piazza and Michael Stuhlbarg.
