Bones, House Both Likely Back On Fox

It’s been a pretty chaotic string of weeks for early renewals. ABC recently brought back Grey’s Anatomy and five others. Just today, Fox gave the go-ahead on Raising Hope’s second season, and of course, Nickelodeon recently did the same for Spongebob. 30 Rock is also back over on NBC with about a half a dozen other heavy-hitters, but conspicuously absent during all the re-ups were two Fox shows almost everyone has assumed would return. What the hell’s going on with Bones and House?

According to Zap2It, the networks is still in the midst of negotiations to bring both programs back. Basically, that means the network is very interested, but the financials haven’t quite been worked out yet. Don’t take my word for it though. Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly went on record talking about the situation this morning. “I anticipate they’re both going to be back. We have some negotiations to go through. We want them both.”

None of this should be surprising of course. Bones was recently gifted with the glorious post-American Idol timeslot, and it’s been a solid performer for six years. It’s currently a top 10 drama amongst adults 18-34. House, lacking the benefit of an AI lead-in, has also crushed, wracking up a slew of awards along the way.
