Boston Legal Reunites Bakula and Bergen

When I heard there was going to be a Murphy Brown reunion, I thought, ok, that’s pretty cool. A reunion show with all the regulars. Now maybe we can find out whatever happened to Joe Regalbuto, the guy who played Frank Fontana. But such is not the case. The only reunion taking place is between Candice Bergen and her onetime MBlove interest, Scott Bakula. The two will share an upcoming storyline on Boston Legal. This might be interesting if not for the fact that they got together long after Murphy Brown fizzled into a formulaic piece of crap and I quit watching.

Anyway, according to a TV Guide.com story, Bakula will guest-star as an old flame of Bergen’s. No word on the number of episodes in which he’ll appear, but let’s hope he’s testing the TV waters for another series.

And in the you’ve-got-too-much-time-on-your-hands department, I came across this nifty site that cross-references the people who’ve appeared in both Boston Legal and a Star Trek show. You’ll recall that Bakula played Capt. Jonathan Archer on Enterprise, and then there’s Rene Auberjonois and, of course, The Shat and, well, the list is mighty long.

Oh, and about Regalbuto? He’s carved out quite the career as a director, on such shows as Wizards of Waverly Place and George Lopez.
