Hey, Scrubs can’t last forever, so Zach Braff continues to feather his talents into the entertainment biz. He’s currently in negotiations to direct and executive produce Saint of Circumstance, a drama pilot for Fox.
The series stars The Office alum David Denman (warehouse dock worker and former fiancé of Pam) as Wayne, a guy who works through his midlife crisis by quitting his office job to be a paramedic on the night shift. The pilot was written by Braff’s brother, Adam Braff, who is also executive producing with Emile Levisetti (Hope & Faith and In Case of Emergency). Saint is expected to start filming after the writer’s strike ends. But it won’t be Braff’s first time behind the cameras. He’s directed several episodes of Scrubs, and he and Adam recently adapted the children’s book, Andrew Henry’s Meadow, for 20th Century Fox. In addition to tossing boxes around on The Office, Denman has guest starred on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, and will hit the big screens in Smart People with Dennis Quaid, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Thomas Haden Church. |
