Bryan Cranston Sports An Incredibly Life-Like Heisenberg Mask At Comic-Con
We saw some truly impressive costumes at Comic-Con this year, including one scary-good Pennywise costume, but Bryan Cranston may have taken the cake with his pretty spot-on Walter White costume, which came complete with an eerily life-like Heisenberg mask, which he apparently wore around the Comic-Con floor. After all, who would have guessed that underneath the Walter White mask was the star of Breaking Bad? Of course, the mask came off during the Breaking Bad panel, and then things got weird.
Business Insider collected some photos from the panel, along with the one above, (via @Karsonwithak's Twitter), which show us the mask on and off Cranston, and the bizarreness that ensued, including Cranston and his Breaking Bad co-star Aaron Paul kissing the mask.
And Vince Gilligan getting a kick out of it all…
These are the kind of antics we can never predict at Comic-Con. But that really is a creepy-good mask. The panel also revealed a clip from the mid-season premiere of Breaking Bad, which showed the first few minutes of the episode. AMC hasn't put the clip online yet, but Eric did a pretty great job of describing it in detail during the panel:
12:19 p.m.: They showed the whole pre-credits scene from the first episode from the first episode of the second half of the fifth season. Set after the events seen in the season five premiere, Walter is seen driving up to the White household, which has been totally abandoned. He walks through the house, which is totally empty and destroyed, and one wall spray painted with the name “HEISENBERG” on it. He goes to an outlet at the back of the house and unscrews it, taking out the poison that is hidden behind the outlet cover. As he returns to his car, he turns and sees that his old neighbor, Carol, is standing and staring at him in her driveway, holding a bag of groceries. They stare at one another and Carol drops her groceries. Right before the credits, Walter simply says, “Hi Carol.
And here's the countdown mashup that also played during the panel, and takes hard and fast look back at the first four and a half seasons of the series. And be sure to read Eric's breakdown of the panel here.
