CBS Coaxes Heather Locklear Back To Television

Former Melrose Place actress Heather Locklear is giving television another go-round. The actress has officially boarded a new CBS pilot called The Assistants that will see her play a reckless, unstable actress prone to terrorizing her hired help. They’re willing to put up with the bad treatment in the name of making connections for their own careers. Let the vicious All About Eve cycle continue.

According to Deadline, Locklear’s husband is still yet to be cast, but David Henrie will star as the principal assistant who hails from her hometown. The subject matter will be dealt with comedically, though it’s unclear whether The Assistants will take a standard sitcom approach or turn into a bit of a dramedy.

Heather Locklear is a bit of a conundrum. She did wonders for Spin City and Melrose Place, but with a few failed pilots in her past, she can’t really be considered a sure thing. Thus, it’s probably up to the pilot to really show some promise in order to get a season order.
