Casting news today has two actors booking major recurring roles and a third taking up the co-lead opposite Andie McDowell in Hallmark channel’s first scripted series, Cedar Cove. Blood Ties’ Dylan Neal will take up the Hallmark gig, while a former Dexter actor moves to Sons of Anarchy and The Finder’s Amy Aquino will join Being Human.

Dylan Neal, who has guested all over the place including 90210, Rizzoli & Isles and most recently Ringer, has been cast in the male lead on Hallmark’s Cedar Cove, says Deadline. He will play a small-town newspaper editor who becomes the love interest for central character Judge Olivia Lockhart, being played by Andie MacDowell. Based on a series of books by Debbie Macomber, Cedar Cove is Hallmark’s debut foray into scripted television. It will debut with a 2-hour backdoor pilot late in 2012 and the series will start early next year. It looks like a pretty big role for Neal if the show lasts.

Billy Brown, who played Mike Anderson on Dexter is set to join the cast of Sons of Anarchy, for the upcoming season in a big recurring role. He’ll play Damon Pope’s right hand man August Marks. The upcoming season of Anarchy is shaping up to be really interesting, considering the addition of Jimmy Smits (another Dexter connection) not long ago. Brown also recently did a stint on Lights Out and guested on Law & Order: SVU.

Recent guest star for The Finder and Harry’s Law Amy Aquino has picked up a recurring role for the third season of Being Human. She was cast as a soup kitchen manager who joins the hunt for the missing Sally. Aquino has also appeared on Brothers & Sisters and ER.
