One of the minds behind Chuck, Gossip Girl, and The O.C. is venturing into half-hour territory with a new multicamera sitcom. The Hollywood Reporter says that Josh Schwartz is writing the comedy script with Chuck producer Matt Miller for Warner Bros. Television. The untitled project follows a newlywed twentysomething couple, which is clearly verdant new territory that has never been explored on the small screen.

Schwartz is a busy guy these days, still exec producing Chuck and Gossip Girl, in addition to penning the new X-Men movie and directing a remake of Bright Lights, Big City. At the very least, he’s shown a deft hand for comedy in his hour-longs, so perhaps his Untitled Twentysomething Newlywed Comedy will be more exciting than it sounds.
