Coke Zero Puts A Twist On Mean Joe Greene Ad For Super Bowl

During tomorrow’s Super Bowl event on NBC, we’ll get to see the new Coke Zero ad entitled “Mean Troy,” which is a take on the classic Coca-Cola ad that aired in 1980 featuring Mean Joe Greene. From what we’re hearing, the new version, which features Pittsburgh Steelers’ Troy Polamalu has a surprise ending. We’ve got the videos of the original ad as well as a look at the new version.

Having only been a couple years old when the original spot aired, I had to You Tube the ad to see what they were referring to with this remake. It premiered during the Super Bowl in 1980 and it's pretty charming. Here it is, in case you aren’t familiar with it:
