The Simpsons is officially the longest running sitcom in history. In San Diego at Comic Con’s Simpsons panel, Matt Groening received an award by the Guiness Book of World Records for the longest running sitcom in history. Take that Ozzie and Harriet!
As the show pushes into its 20th year on television, The Simpsons is piling up the usual slate of celebrity guest voices, and Groening rolled out the full, official list of cameos you can expect to see on the show next season. Here they are:
Seth Rogen
Jonah Hill
The Smothers Brothers and The Manning Brothers (including the one that doesn’t play football)
Anne Hathaway
Eartha Kitt
Gary Larson (creator of The Far Side!)
Those last three will all appear in the same episode, The Simpsons 20th anniversary episode which will, strangely enough, be preceded by a documentary. The documentary is being shot by Morgan Spurlock and the subject is, appropriately, The Simpsons. I guess Spurlock’s given up on being taken seriously. With a mustache like that what were his chances, really, anyway?
