Community's Danny Pudi Guest Stars On NBC's Chuck

I'm surprised that Chuck was always teetering, wondering whether renewal or cancellation awaited them after each and every season. On paper, it's a pretty mainstream and likable show, easily digestible with a good looking cast all of whom have great charm and charisma. Perhaps it treaded too fine a line between comedy and action that it lost both of those audiences? Either way, thanks to its hardcore supporters, Chuck has managed to claw its way into a fifth season and lined up some cool guest stars in the process. The latest being Danny Pudi.

If you think about it, it's kind of a perfect fit. Hell, in an unfortunate world, Pudi could have been cast in many roles on the NBC action-comedy and both show's destinies could have been changed forever. Hm, that would be a good episode of The Twilight Zone. AOLTV first reported that, "'Community's Abed, will have a cameo role in the fifth episode of the upcoming season of 'Chuck.'" They go on to say that details of the role are still under wraps, of course, but wouldn't it be something if Abed strolled into the Chuck world? Don't get your hopes up, I'm sure they'll have Pudi playing some cartoonish villain. Although, Pudi is well versed in this kind of thing, with his 'memorable' appearance on Cougar Town... hopefully we get a little more this time around.

Chuck, knowing it's the final year, has lined up a bunch of great guest stars for the upcoming season including Mark Hamill in a villainous role and Carrie-Anne Moss as a possible love interest for Adam Baldwin's Casey. It was really something to catch the Chuck cast at their final Comic-Con - an event they claimed played a big role in them lasting as long as they did - and see Zach Levi tear up while thanking the fans. The way the season is shaping up, they seem to be thanking the fans a lot in this last year.

Chuck returns with its fifth and final season October 21 on NBC.

Oh, and since we're talking Community and guests, did you see the clip of John Goodman on the NBC comedy? Check it out.
