Community Fans Stage A Flash Mob For NBC This Thursday

Community may be on an extended hiatus, but the series certainly hasn’t been forgotten by fans. In an effort to get NBC’s attention and make sure the network knows just how beloved the comedy series is, fans are convening at Rockefeller Center tomorrow afternoon for a good, old-fashioned protest flash mob.

It’s my understanding that flash mobs are typically meant to be a surprise, however, from the sound of it, word about this one spread via Twitter as the project drew interest and support. So, while the element of surprise won't be there, at least people know when and where to show up to join in or witness (hopefully with cameras) as Community fans join together in a musical expression of their appreciation for one of TV’s best comedies.

According to the Daily News, the flash mob, which is meant to show support for Community, will take place on Thursday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. outside NBC’s headquarters in New York.

One of the organizers, Catherine Boyd, spoke about taking action...?

“I’m not all that funny and I’m kind of a nerd, so I came up with what I thought was something that’s surreal, that everyone in New York could join in and sing a Christmas song for just two minutes.”

It sounds like there will be a lot of singing involved in this flash mob, as Boyd says fans are planning to sing songs from the recent Glee-themed episode.
