Conan Makes Amends With Chinese Talk Show That Ripped Off His Opening Theme

Recently, it was discovered that an online talk show in China was using an opening credits sequence that was remarkably similar to the opening for Conan O’Brien’s late night TBS talk show Conan. Conan poked fun at being ripped off numerous times last week, even going as far as to take revenge on the show by mimicking them back.

Last night’s episode featured a follow-up segment, which revealed that the talk show “Da Peng” has since updated their opening sequence in response to the Conan segments, and issued an apology (complete with an apology dance). Check it out in the video ahead, and see what Conan does to make the situation right.

“I was flattered that you ripped us off,” Conan said, addressing the host of the Chinese show during last night’s episode. He then presented “Da Peng” with their very own opening to use for their show. And then, of course, there was dancing... really bad dancing.

And so, peace is restored in the universe once again. Though I’d love it if “Da Peng” decides to use the Conan-made opening sequence on their show.

Conan airs weeknights at 11:00 p.m. Et on TBS.
