Cougar Town: The Complete Third Season Is Coming To DVD In February

Cougar Town may suffer from a bad title (but awesome title cards) and may have at one time been cancelled by ABC, but you would think a season that had enough fans to be resurrected on another network would be available on DVD already. Despite Season 4 of the series heading to TBS pretty soon, Season 3 of the series isn’t available for purchase, yet. Lionsgate Home Entertainment plans to rectify the situation on February 5, 2013, when Cougar Town: The Complete Third Season hits DVD.

Season 3 of Cougar Town follows an engagement and subsequent wedding planning. While the latter met with more obstacles than the former, the season set the show up pretty well for a move to a brand new network, where Cougar Town will assumedly pick right up where the series left off. Lionsgate’s Season 3 set won’t be as extensive as either the Season 1 or 2 sets in the bonus features department, but it will come with deleted scenes and bloopers, so if you do want to nab a copy of the set, you will get a little something besides the extras. On top of this, features are still tentative, so fans can hope a few more bonus features will be added before release.

Along with the Season 3 set, Lionsgate will be churning out DVD copies for Season 1 and 2, as well. Cougar Town seems like a show that has loyal viewers, but I’m not sure the release is exciting enough to entice hoards of purchasers. That being said, if you already are a viewer as loyal as Community’s Abed, it may be a better deal to wait until after the show is cancelled and just nab a full series set.

In the meantime, Cougar Town is headed to TBS to begin airing new episodes on January 8, 2013.
