Grey’s Anatomy is in reruns for the next couple of weeks but ABC posted the episode description for the next new episode and it’s a big one. Oh, sure we’ve heard the rumors that George and Izzie might be leaving but based on the episode description for “I Will Follow You Into The Dark,” it looks like there’s another doctor at Seattle Grace who might be leaving! Spoilers ahead!
Poor Derek got called a murderer by the husband of a woman whose brain Derek had to tinker around in during last week’s episode. The routine procedure went wrong and the woman whom Derek was sure would be fine ended up dead. Now sure, the words of a grief-stricken husband shouldn’t be enough to cause McDreamy to rethink his career but what if he were to find out that the death count of his patients was higher than the survivor count? Below is ABC’s episode description:
“After learning at a deposition that more of his patients have died than survived, Derek decides to quit, even as Meredith refuses to give up on him. Meanwhile Bailey and the Chief continue to bicker over her peds fellowship -- until Adele steps in to mediate -- and Izzie's interns discover something unsettling on a "patient x," unaware that the charts they're looking at are actually Izzie's, on "Grey's Anatomy," THURSDAY, MARCH 12 (9:00-10:02 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network”
Honestly, I can’t picture Derek leaving Seattle Grace (or Patrick Dempsey leaving Grey’s Anatomy) but this story arc does sound interesting. It’s nice to hear there’s an actual plot in this show that focuses on one of the doctor’s occupational issues as opposed to the usual romantic story arcs that have turned the series into a prime time soap opera.
