Set to premiere next week is USA’s new original series Covert Affairs. If you’re excited to see whether Piper Perabo has what it takes to be the next must-watch female TV action star, we have some video clips from the premiere as well as some details on the series.
Based on the premise alone (a government agent with a past that’s potentially relevant to her job as an agent), I’m getting a major Alias vibe off this series and that’s a good thing, considering TV could really use a new Sydney Bristow.

Gallagher is Arthur Campbell, the formidable director of Clandestine Services for the CIA. Dudek plays Danielle, a married mother of two and Annie’s older sister who knows nothing of her life as a spy. Matchett plays Joan, head of the CIA’s Domestic Protection Division...and Arthur’s wife. In episode two, Ramamurthy joins the show as Jai Wilcox, an agent with a rich family history within the walls of the CIA.”
