Defiance Gets An Official Premiere Date

Syfy’s new original series, Defiance, has been gearing up for a spring premiere over the last several months, releasing trailers and even some concept art. On Monday, Syfy announced the network has finally decided on a premiere date for the freshman series.

According to THR, during today’s Defiance TCA panel, Syfy announced the drama has settled on April 15 for the premiere date. The TV series will follow characters played by Grant Bowler, Julie Benz, and Jaime Murray in a setting populated by aliens and humans attempting to get along in what used to be Missouri after a big war. With humans and seven alien races trying to mix, things are bound to get a little crazy, and so far, Defiance’s teasers have shown the action and tensions.

Defiance is notable for its format, which will include the 12-episode TV series, as well as a video game that will share the same story. There’s always the worry that either the game might blow the TV series out of the water or vice versa, but so far, the marketing team has been pretty good about spending time with both.

If you haven’t caught any of the cast and crew interviews or concept art looking into aspects of the upcoming series, we’ve covered both, or you can always head over to Syfy’s Defiance website, which takes an in-depth look at both the TV series and the game.

Syfy’s Defiance will premiere on April 15 at 9 p.m. ET.
