For those who sat baited breath at the end of Dexter’s Season 4 and stared wide-eyed at Rita sitting a pool of her own blood (thanks to the Trinity killer), you don’t have to wait much longer to see how Dexter’s suddenly uncontrolled world turns upside down. It was a twist of all twists that left the show at a definite crossroads. Is Dexter still a serial killer? Does he become strictly a father now? Does he really go off the rails and just turn into the raving killer he’s always meant to be? The fifth season of the Showtime drama holds many questions.

If you're sitting on the edge of your seat wanting more Michael C. Hall, the waiting is almost over. Season 5 begins this fall and the trailer for the new season has hit the web. Unlike other seasons, this one picks up directly where the last one left off with police responding the Morgan household and Dexter proclaiming, “I did it.”

This season looks like the exploration of Dexter as a sum of all his parts (rather than separate parts of an equation). Detective Quinn thinks, with good reason, Dexter is guilty of murder. Dex is left with Rita’s kids who hold him responsible for their mother’s death. And his alias of Kyle Butler is a wanted man. The Emmy-nominated drama enters into unexplored grounds with Dexter as the hunted rather than the hunter.
